Sacred Mountain
Welcome to Your Mountain Sanctuary
Your Serene Mountain Retreat
As retreat leaders understand, the energy of a retreat shifts based on the space that holds it. The same holds true when forming a retreat center. Location is the container that shapes the work inside–and everything that follows. The importance of location guided our search in finding a suitable space for what would become Wheel Of Bliss. And this is where our story with these mountains begins.
The mountains surrounding Wheel Of Bliss are ancient. The ridges rose long before trees spread across the earth, long before bones hardened within living beings. They stood when the continents were still one, and they will remain long after us. Here, time moves differently.
Yet, beyond their age, the mountains surrounding Asheville specifically hold a special presence. Perhaps that is why more and more spiritual seekers from around the world view Asheville and the surrounding areas as a place of pilgrimage. Some attribute it to vast quartz deposits in places like nearby Spruce Pine, others to the intersection of ley lines and energetic vortexes. Whatever the source, seasoned practitioners and spiritual seekers recognize the change in energy is palpable when arriving here. And it amplifies the depth of the work.
Before the stewards of Wheel Of Bliss opened the space in 2016, we experienced this difference firsthand, which is why we felt called to open Bliss up to the spiritual community at large.
When you guide your participants here, these mountains stand with you. More ancient than humanity, yet still willing to hold us all as we do the work to awaken.

What makes the mountains of Wheel Of Bliss unique?
The mountains surrounding Wheel of Bliss belong to one of the oldest ranges on the planet. These peaks rose before forests spread across the earth, before living creatures carried bones, and when the continents were still joined as one. They endure even now, ancient and steady, shaping a landscape where time seems to move differently.
But age alone does not explain their power. The ridges near Asheville are known for a distinct energy that has drawn spiritual seekers for generations. Some trace it to the rich quartz veins of nearby Spruce Pine, others to the convergence of ley lines and energetic vortexes. Whatever the origin, the effect is unmistakable: a presence that deepens practices of meditation, ceremony, and retreat.
